Computer, Information and ID Theft

Laptop computers and other electronic gear, and personal items are extremely vulnerable to theft at airports and other busy, crowded areas. Thieves are experts at exploiting split-second opportunities to relieve you of your expensive business and personal items and will gladly do so… if you give them the chance.

Computers are especially vulnerable, not only to physical theft, but also to information and identity theft. Many computer thieves are just as interested in your account numbers and passwords as they are in your actual laptop or PDA.

We recommend having a laptop with a removable hard drive and that you take the hard drive with you whenever you’re leaving the computer unattended.

Security checkpoints are popular locations for theft. Be sure not to leave expensive items on top of your carry-on belongings when they go through airport security screening. Restaurants and restrooms are also high crime areas. Never leave unattended personal items on tables or outside restroom stalls.

Protect Your Sensitive Business Information

Losing an expensive laptop is bad enough, but allowing sensitive business information to fall into the wrong hands can be catastrophic.

Corporate espionage is a very real and very sophisticated threat, one that should be treated with the utmost seriousness.

Our Executive Travel Security Manual covers these topics in depth. Use it to learn how to protect your personal and business information, as well as the safety of yourself
